Hit and run causes crash

A motorcyclist crashed in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 around Porteau Cove on Oct. 12.

The motorcyclist alleged a brown sedan rear-ended him, causing him to lose control of the bike and skid off the road, police say.

Officers say the brown sedan did not stop at the scene.

The motorcyclist was not seriously injured and was not transported to hospital. Police are asking for any witnesses to this incident to contact police.

 

Attempted B&E at Britannia Mine Museum

Someone tried to enter the main mine building at the Britannia Museum on Oct. 9.

Police say the area could be dangerous to enter.

Officers say nothing appeared to be missing.

 

B&E at construction site

A security company reported a male was breaking into a construction site on Cleveland Avenue Oct. 9.

The suspect was about 5’8” and wearing a dark jacket and dark pants.

Police couldn’t find anyone on the property or in the immediate area.

 

Multiple thefts from vehicles

Thieves stole items from at least three vehicles in the Garibaldi Estates over two days.

RCMP say between Oct. 10 and 11, multiple thefts occurred on Kalodon Drive.

Police say there’s been an increase in thefts from vehicles and are reminding people to lock their car doors and remove valuables.

 

Stolen boat motor

A boat motor was stolen from a boat at a storage facility on Queens Way.

Police were informed of the incident on Oct. 14, but the motor was believed to have been taken weeks before.

The stolen item is a Yamaha 9.9 Outboard Motor.
