Violation tickets issued after passenger smokes cannabis

Tickets were issued after an officer found the passenger of a Toyota Tacoma smoking marijuana on Dec. 8.

At first, RCMP stopped the vehicle for speeding. Upon approach, the officer saw the passenger throw something out the window.

Police determined it was cannabis.

Both the driver and passenger were issued violation tickets under the CCLA for Operate Vehicle Knowing that Another Person is Smoking Cannabis in it Section 65(2) and Consume Cannabis in Vehicle Operated by Another Person Section 65(1)(b), both carrying fines of $230.
