Freight-liner jackknifed

A semi-truck ended up in the ditch northbound on Highway 99 near Rubble Creek on Jan. 18.  The tractor-trailer had jackknifed into the ditch and the trailer was blocking the northbound lane of traffic, police said.

The driver of the truck was seriously injured and was transported by BC Ambulance to Vancouver General Hospital.  He told officers he was cut off by another driver and had to slam on the breaks causing him to slide into the ditch.

Man climbing in donation bins on Tantalus Road

A concerned bystander called police about a man climbing in and out of the donation bins in the 40400 block of Tantalus Road.  A man matching the description was soon located but denied climbing in the bins. This incident is concerning as police have had several reports of this lately, even with the extensive media attention on the deaths in the Lower Mainland.

Who let the dogs out??

The owner of a business on Progress Way called police on Jan. 18  after a number of dogs escaped the premises.  All dogs were rounded up. The concern remained that someone had purposely opened the gate.
