An alleged prankster reported a hostage situation with firearms at an abandoned church on Fourth Avenue in downtown Squamish on Dec. 9.
Multiple officers rushed to the scene and found those who were thought to be involved in the original report.
Both denied any calls were made and said they were both fine.
The property was cleared for safety.
Police believe this to be a swatting call, where false reports are made to the police which require a heavy tactical police presence.
