UPDATE: The rainfall warning issued for Howe Sound has ended, but showers are still in the forecast. The Flood Watch is still in place.

More rain is on the way.

The rainfall warning issued for the Howe Sound area, including Squamish, continues today (Tuesday).

Downpours will continue tonight, with total rainfall amounts between 15 to 40 millimetres by Wednesday morning, according to Environment Canada. It’s predicted Squamish will be hit with close to 40 millimetres of rain due to being located close to the mountains.

Environment Canada warns that localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
