I would like to voice how delighted I am to hear that the Senior Centre (The 55 Activity Centre) is expected to be opened up this September.
Many people may not know how much the lack of activities due to COVID have affected many, many of the elderly.
The majority of elderly people live alone, and most of their children and grandchildren live very far from them.
Not having a place to go to, not having a place where to meet friends and other seniors, not having any classes and recreational activities have been very hard on everyone.
As there is a steady increase of seniors in Squamish, I know that all the seniors are looking forward to having lots of activities, and being with their friends again.
