Squamish Firefighters hosed down the RCMP in the annual Guns & Hoses hockey match for charity on Mar. 15. Rescuers took a 9-7 win in the just-for-fun game that would benefit the Hanson House Fund, which would help take care of Muriel Hanson’s daughters. Hanson, a beloved single mom, died after battling cancer earlier this year. Donations would also be split with the Squamish Food Bank. But while firefighters had the favoured score, officers had the favourite player. Eight-year-old Theo Lazaridis, after battling cancer, scored two goals during the event for the RCMP. In previous years, Lazaridis had been a recipient of the charitable proceeds from this event.
