Squamish Valley Elders took a painting lesson from artist Mehran "Raz" Razmpoosh on Thursday at Totem Hall. The elders painted a Sp'akw'us (bald eagle). The group paints with Raz once a month during the winter. They meet several times a week year-round to participate in other activities and trips. Several of the participants told The Chief they were surprised that though each person painted the same thing, each piece of art turned out differently. Raz said he found spending time with the Squamish Nation "aunties" and "uncles," inspiring.
