Records show the home’s owner is Joe Calvano, who co-founded dollar store chain Dollar Giant at the age of 47 in the early 2000s, and sold it to Dollar Tree Inc. in 2010 for $62 million, according to Business in Vancouver’s profile. Calvano and his two partners paid off $10 million in debt and split the remaining $52 million three ways.

The West Vancouver property was assessed in July 2018 at $10,824,000, down from the previous year’s $12,785,000. Records show that the home was purchased in 2016 after its construction for $13 million. The previous 1975-built house on the property was sold for $5.9 million in 2006.
