Squamish dragon boat racers took second place in the Diamond B Division of the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival earlier this month.
The racers found the silver lining with a time of 2:24.045.
“Chawanda may not have brought home the bling, but we fought hard and achieved our goals by improving and beating our own times each race, by placing second in the costume and dance competition and having a great time,” wrote dragonboater Cathie Greenlees, who also happens to be a staffer at The Chief.
