Video: Firefighters tackle fire in Vancouver coffee shop

The "flames had extended up into the ventilation system," said an assistant fire chief.

Firefighters responded to a first-alarm fire in a Vancouver coffee shop on Thursday (June 7) afternoon.

Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS) responded to reports of a fire just before 2 p.m. at Milano Coffee Roasters located at 156 W 8th Ave.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered one of the coffee roasters on fire and "flames had extended up into the ventilation system," VFRS Ass. Chief Brian Bertuzzi told Vancouver Is Awesome in a phone interview.

There were no injuries and no major structural damage has been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
