SURREY, B.C. — The RCMP say a male suffered life-threatening wounds when he was shot in Surrey yesterday.

Police say they got the gunfire call at around 5:40 p.m. and officers were dispatched to 70th Ave. where they found the victim.

Investigators say two people are in custody in connection with the incident, however, there's been no word on charges.

Police say there are indications the suspects and the victim know each other and that it was a targeted attack.

They also say the violence is not related to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Mounties are canvassing the neighbourhood and are asking anyone with information about the case to contact them.
