A Vancouver woman can't find the words to describe how she feels after winning the $1-million Maxmillions prize.

“I can’t really describe how exciting it is to just feel comfortable,” explained the winner. “Having no worries… that is life-changing.”

Ha Nguyen purchased the winning ticket from London Drugs on Robson Street and checked her ticket on a self-checker, explains a BCLC press release. When the Vancouverite discovered she had won the $1-million Maxmillions prize from the June 18, 2021 Lotto Max draw, she was in shock.

"The clerk even said ‘why are you not excited?’… I didn’t want to be excited there and draw attention to myself.”

Nguyen couldn’t wait to share the news with her son, who was in disbelief.

“He didn’t believe me… he had to check it on his phone and then he was excited for me.”

Nguyen plans to put her prize toward purchasing a condo and looks forward to enjoying the contentment of her win. “I feel comfortable, which means no worries if my children need help. I’m able to take care of it.”

“I have always said that you can’t win if you don’t have a ticket… this time it was me,” Nguyen exclaimed.
