Three female artists have come together to show their artwork in a new exhibit, Alone Together.

Lani Imre, Kylie O’Grady and Alex Badger were brought together by their strong Squamish roots and their mutual friendship with Janet and Paul Bride – their exhibit is opening at the Paul Bride Gallery downtown on Nov. 16 from 6 to 11 p.m.

Imre has made a name for herself by creating powerful paintings and drawings of defiant and beautiful female characters.

“They are as strong as they are seductive,” she says in a press release.

The subject of her work isn’t characterized by ethnicity or skin colour, but instead by a fiery energy painted or drawn into each one.

Known by many in Squamish for her skill at styling hair, O’Grady also creates mosaics made of delicate flowers brought together to reflect her sense of humour, femininity, beauty and her skepticism of our “connected world.”

Like Imre and O’Grady, Badger is a multi-dimensional artist. After delving into a music career that saw her record two albums, an EP and many singles, she decided to pursue her first love – visual art. Her paintings are filled with beauty, sadness and a sense of humour – just like her music.

She will be playing live at the opening of the art exhibit. Wine is available by donation.

The Paul Bride Gallery is located at 37864 Third Ave.
