Do it for the art of it, Squamish

Want some funding for your art project? 

If you answered, 'yes,' the Squamish Arts Council wants to hear from you. 

The organization is accepting applications for its community arts and culture grants. 

Public art installations do not qualify. 

"The Squamish Arts Council, in conjunction with the District, has allocated $20,000 this year to support local artists and groups in creating the art they want to see in Squamish," said the art council's Silke Labson in an email to The Chief. 

"By providing financial support, we hope to allow more residents the opportunity to share their art and show how vibrant and creative the Squamish community is."

Applications are being accepted here until Feb. 28. 

Past recipients include a production byBroadway or Bust Musical Theatre and a Cheakamus Centre totem pole education project.
