As work continues to repair the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, the show must go on.

In October, the gondola launches a drive-in movie series — Cinema Under the Stars film screenings — rain or shine.

Classics and family-friendly flicks get airtime in the parking lot of the Sea to Sky Gondola, where the Basecamp Café will offer food and beverages. Things kick of with A Dog's Way Home, including scenes filmed at the gondola. Screenings will be held on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month, starting at 7 p.m. Audiences are recommended to arrive ahead of time to secure a spot and snacks. Lawnchair seating is also available, but you must bring your own seat.

As Halloween approaches, heed the need to Trick or Treat at the gondola. The annual tradition invites costumed candy collectors of all ages for seasonal activities and, of course, Trick or Treating on the Shannon Falls Connector Trail. Join the fun starting at noon, Oct. 26.

Early in the morning of Aug. 10, according to Squamish RCMP, someone cut the main cable of the popular attraction, sending 30 cabins to the forest below.

While the gondola is expected to reopen in spring 2020, the café, guest services and gift shop are open.
