The Sea to Sky Corridor school district is getting a provincial funding injection that will impact some local students.

The province announced Tuesday that $65 million is going to be distributed to all of the school districts across B.C. for 176 individual upgrade projects.
“We are supporting B.C. schools with this funding, so students, teachers and school district staff can focus their energy to where it matters most – in the classroom,” said Education Minister Rob Fleming, in a news release.

In the corridor, about $272,400 will go toward a School Bus Replacement Program to replace two local buses. Garibaldi Highlands Elementary School is getting a $1,555,000 heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system upgrade.
The total for theses corridor upgrades is almost $1,830,000.
