While Squamish band Zombie Roof is not new to the music scene, they're in the running for CBC's Searchlight competition that seeks original music in Canada.
The band, named after a climb in the Smoke Bluffs, has seen many iterations through the years with a rotation of band members and name changes. Despite a 20-year hiatus, there are familiar faces among them that many in Squamish would recognize — especially those who attended the 2018 Canada Day celebrations, where Zombie Roof performed.
For Searchlight, Zombie Roof is featuring their music video for their original song "Not Just Another Night," which came out as a single in 2018. The band also recently wrapped recording on their third album.
Voting for the first round of the competition closes on Feb. 13. Voters can select the band or musician of their choice once every 24 hours.
