Squamish Chamber of Commerce seeks nominations

Election for new board members will be held this spring
chamber

As three directors prepare to depart the Squamish Chamber of Commerce's board, others are invited to step up to the plate.

President Rob Weys, treasurer Christine Campbell and director Hilary Ewart are the outgoing directors this spring. In their place, the chamber said it is seeking people with a background in fields such as finance, large business, construction, green economy and outdoor recreation.

Eleven directors govern the board. This coming term, there are four recommended returning directors: Mike Coyne, Rajan Hans, Abby Majendie and Jack Montpellier. There are three incumbents eligible to be voted back on the board: Maxime Charron, Allie Meeres and Bianca Peters.

Interested? To be eligible, candidates need to have been in good standing with the chamber for at least a year before the election. Candidates must also have done governance training in the last two years or attend a free training session on Feb. 29. As part of the process, candidates will also be interviewed by the nominations task force and participate at the March 10 policy committee meeting.
