Squamish is celebrating yoga day with a free group outdoor yoga session presented by Nirmala Raniga.

Raniga is the host of “Journey of Healing” on JoyTV and the founder of Squamish's Chopra Wellness and Addiction Center, which incorporates yoga in its wellness offerings.

This year is the fifth International Day of Yoga, since its acclamation at the United Nations on December 11, 2014.

It is estimated that 1.5 million

The Squamish event gets on the mat from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at Junction Park and O'Siyam Pavilion.

Organizers say to bring your own yoga mat and water bottle.
