The hunt is on for Squamish's Easter eggs

Where to find the Easter Bunny's treats in Squamish
Easter bunny

The Easter Bunny is hopping his way around Squamish on Sunday, April 21. There are three places in town where you can spot evidence of his presence — in the form of eggs and treats, of course — if you know where to look.

Eggcellent fun is on the schedule at the annual Squamish Firefighter's Association and Squamish Fire Easter Eggstravaganza, where hundreds of chocolate eggs are destined to be found. Mr. E. Bunny himself will be there for the big day, which begins at 10 a.m. The organizers encourage people to be at Brennan Park Recreation Centre in time for the hunt!

Atop the Sea to Sky Gondola, the roaming rabbit also laid chocolate eggs along one of the Summit Trails, where egg hunters can gather the treats from woodland creatures at their own pace between 10:30 a.m. and noon. Those feeling crafty can colour and make DIY festive projects at the Summit Lodge, where there will also be face painting. Brunch needs to be booked in advance.

At the Britannia Mine Museum, it's not a bunny but a dinosaur who leaves his eggs for children to discover! This candy-free activity also substitutes sugar for gem-filled eggs to be traded at the mineral table, where the treasures are safely stored. B. Rex (that's short for Britanniasaurus Rex) will be wandering the museum from 11 a.m. to 11:30 am, then at 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Snap a photo with the elusive beast if you can find him! The egg hunt will be at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for late-risers.
