Anyone feeling to-go pancakes today?

Brackendale Elementary will be raising funds for Community Christmas Care today.

School District 48 spokesperson Jennifer Morris said people are welcome to the school yard until 7 p.m. today to make a donation. Once you’ve dropped off your gifts, you’ll receive a breakfast bag to-go.

To be part of the larger virtual celebration, make your own pancake breakfast when it is convenient for you, then share your photos on social media with the tag #brackendalepancakes or by email to brackedalepac@gmail.com.

This community event typically raises $1,200 to $1,400 annually plus a couple dozen boxes full of toys and non-perishables.

Christmas Care is an annual tradition where volunteers deliver essential goods and gifts to local families in need.

Despite the pandemic, the event will still be going ahead.

With economic times being tough, it’s’ expected the demand will be higher than usual this season.
