The Squamish air

One week ago (April 2014) my partner, baby and pug moved to Squamish, and it already feels like home. We can't wait to grow old here, please let me tell you why... I've always thought that there is something special about the Squamish air.

I've always thought that there is something special about the Squamish air.

For me, it's the scent of escaping the hustle and bustle. It's a breeze created by eagles soaring over rivers, beside forests, surrounded by mountains. It's the beats of an awesome music festival. It's the stink of muddy adventures in the great outdoors. It's a daily reminder to put down my camera and experience the moment. It's the sounds of birds at the feeder, giggles at the park and a train chugging along from sea to sky. It's a perfume that's equal parts hiking boots, bike grease, and ski wax with a splash of freshly brewed beer and a hint of campfire. It's the exhilaration of new activities and anticipation of familiar old ones. It's the hush of the ocean, and the howl of the mountain wind. It's an experience for the senses that makes this place the best kept secret of the Sea to Sky Corridor.

For me, there is something special about the Squamish air, and my family will be bottling it up in our memories for years to come.
