Jeff, who brings 20 years of experience in creating and growing businesses to the table, has a vision to bring greater prosperity to the community.
"The primary focus in Squamish in the next 12 months needs to be about building the economy. There are four pieces to this: helping existing businesses grow, attracting new business, and attracting new self employed or remote working professionals to Squamish, and investing in our "Outdoor Recreation Capital" brand. We have so much going for us with the trails, rivers, forests, and mountains. Our mountain bike trails are an obvious example of a resource that we could use more extensively to build Squamish's brand. Another example of an undervalued opportunity is the migration of the bald eagles here every year. This amazing natural phenomenon is a completely undervalued opportunity. It is a great chance to draw people here. These recreation opportunities do attract tourists, which is great, but more importantly, they attract new residents. The outdoor recreation and natural beauty is one of the main reasons I relocated my family and business here. I know I am not the only one."
