Written questions to council candidates

.This year some non-profits were not given tax exemptions on all properties as in past years. What is your opinion of the current tax exemption policy?

.Doug Day has submitted plans to rezone the Garibaldi Springs Golf Course to accommodate condensed homes. What is your opinion?

.What are you planning on doing to support and engage the children, youth and young adults in the community?

.We all recognize appropriately zoned residential development will happen (when the market forces are right) at the old Interfor site (3500 units), at Westmana, at Quest University, behind Save On Foods etc. The oceanfront will also have lots or residential housing. In fact, there are other areas that can be "in-filled" and densified. Now, regarding land use in the Upper Mamquam Blind Channel, we know that Kingswood wants to develop nearly 400 condos, we also know there is no left-in or left out access across the highway. We also recognize the importance of Rose Park, the Adventure Centre and the Smoke Bluffs Park as part of the Gateway to Squamish. Do you feel the current Tourism/Commercial zoning should be rezoned for high density condos?

.There has been much talk and speculation about the recent decision to appoint Lalli and Gardner to the SODC board. Was this appointment correct? Were there no other suitable SODC director candidates living in Squamish? Do you agree with this appointment?
