The assault took place in Surrey, B.C., in the early morning hours of Sept. 8.

A 22-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after an incident at a Surrey park over the weekend.

Surrey RCMP officers responded to a park near 120 Street of 70 Avenue on Sunday and found two victims who had been assaulted.

Both of the men, ages 18 and 22, were transported to the hospital. The 18-year-old was released, but the 22-year-old remains in hospital.

“Police believe that someone must have seen or heard something suspicious around the time of this incident,” says Const. Parmbir Kahlon.

Investigators are canvassing the area and are looking for CCTV footage.

“Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Sept. 8, 2024, to call police,” said Kahlon.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and reference file number 2024-132124.
