Ryan Reynolds shared a touching tribute to an iconic Canadian actor and friend on social media.

The Vancouver actor took to Twitter on Saturday (Jan. 21) to share some love and admiration for Michael J. Fox.

Reynolds, who shares he lost his own father to Parkinson's disease, wrote that Fox is a "friend, role model, generational talent and Canadian," and added that he can't wait to see his new feature film on Apple TV+.

Fox stars in Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, which chronicles the Edmonton-born actor's rise to fame and battle with Parkinson's. The film will "incorporate documentary, archival and scripted elements," according to Apple TV+.

Reynolds said the new flick will reside in his Michael J. Fox "anthology DVD shelf in my heart," adding that Fox's film The Frighteners is "criminally underrated."

Fox has a Metro Vancouver connection. The beloved actor's parents met at a community dance in Ladner and his mom Phyllis worked for the Delta Optimist. Fox, however, grew up in Burnaby.
