Squamish reverts back to Stage 2 water restrictions

As temperatures cool off, Stage 3 restrictions are rescinded.

The District advises using a timer ($15 to $40 at local hardware stores) to pre-set your sprinkler the night before your designated watering day.

As temperatures cool off, the District is reverting to Stage 2 water restrictions.

The municipality had put in place Stage 3 water restrictions on June 26 due to the historic heatwave.

With water usage back at Stage 2, residents can water one day per week with a sprinkler.

Locals are expected to follow a schedule that has different neighborhoods watering their lawns on different days.

The schedule is as follows:

Monday - Valleycliffe, Hospital Hill

Tuesday - Downtown

Wednesday - Dentville, Business Park, North Yards

Thursday - Loggers Lane/ Finch Drive, Quest University

Friday - Garibaldi Highlands

Saturday - Garibaldi Estates

Sunday - Brackendale
 

Even-numbered addresses: 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Odd-numbered addresses: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
 

Watering with a hand-held container or device with automatic shut-off is allowed on any day between 6 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.
