Watch: Whistler's Marcus Goguen lands epic backflip en route to second place at FWT

'This is just silly,' one commentator said of the local phenom's run

At just 18 years old, Whistler's Marcus Goguen is proving he can hang with the best of them on the Freeride World Tour.

At the tour's second stop at Kicking Horse in Golden on Feb. 17, Goguen threw down a crazy run—including an epic backflip—en route to a second-place finish.

Goguen's feats had the commentators comparing his run to the effortless tricks one might lay down in a PlayStation game.

"This is just silly," one of them said as Goguen crossed the finish line.

Goguen's second-place result comes after a 9th at Ordino Arcalís in Andorra on Feb. 9, and puts him at eighth overall in the standings—good enough for a spot in the FWT finals.

Max Hitzig of Germany took first on the day, while Austria's Valentin Rainer took third.

The FWT Finals are next, kicking off in Fieberbrunn, Austria on March 11.
