It’s time to hit the refresh button.

Squamish’s Refresh Market is returning to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park for its first two-day market of the year.

Held twice annually, Refresh Market calls itself one of B.C.’s leading showcases of independent art and design.

It also has branded itself as the largest market in the Sea to Sky corridor — organizers say the average attendance has been about 3,000.

“Refresh has become, in many ways, a place to shop and scout new products and talent,” said Refresh Market co-founder Shannon Lorenz in a news release. “It’s been incredible to see the community grow and evolve over the past seven years. At the end of the day, it’s the community that matters most.”

The spring market provides an opportunity to connect face-to-face with local artists and small shop owners, and purchase goods directly from the maker.

Organizers say one of the highlights of this iteration of the market is the photography of Vancouver shutterbug Tin Type Trike, who creates 1860s-style tintype portraits in his darkroom on wheels.

There will also be 48 new vendors, including Kitsilano vintage lifestyle shop Stepback, Main Street hub Neighbourhood Quality Goods, Army of Rokosz jewelry designer Andrea Rokosz and swimwear designers Fenntessa and UNION Swimwear.

The Refresh Market will take place on Friday, April 27 from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
