On Saturday June 5 I attended the Squamish Senior Citizens Home Society event celebrating 40 years of providing affordable housing for seniors in our area. Many directors and former directors and spouses were in attendance and it was interesting to know the history of how the Cedars and Squamish Manor came to be in our community as shared by MC Bill Rempel. It was also good to see former Municipal Administrator, Jim Craven again. The delicious luncheon was enjoyed by residents and visitors including the cutting of a special anniversary cake. Later in the afternoon we were treated to a Frank Sinatra hour as performed by talented George Francis Ellenton.
