Seventeen teams and a throng of spectators attended another fun-filled “April Tools” boat building and racing  competition, presented by the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society on April 27.

In the adult category, it was a repeat win for last year’s champs, the “FireFlies” consisting of Bruno and Sawyer Cote, Ray Miron and Kerry Rand. They were undaunted by the organizers surprise challenge of incorporating two garbage cans and lid into their design.

Each of the seven youth teams from Pender Harbour Secondary was awarded an honour, ranging from “best sinker” to the “great paddling” title.
