Cops for Cancer fundraiser set

Dinner in support of Marshall planned this Saturday

The organizers of the annual Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast are planning a fundraising dinner in Squamish in support of Cst. Glenn Marshall, a West Vancouver police officer who is riding in this year's tour in support of pediatric cancer research.

The dinner, which takes place on Saturday (Sept. 15) at The Cup on Tantalus Road, behind Extra Foods, will include a fundraising silent auction. The Canadian Cancer Society's Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast is a nine-day ride covering some 900 kilometres in the Lower Mainland and the Sea to Sky Corridor involving law enforcement and emergency services personnel.

Marshall, whose father died of cancer in March, has set $6,000 as his fundraising goal. As of Thursday (Sept. 6), he was at $4,761.

Tickets for the Sept. 15 dinner are $40 per person. For more information, please visit www.cancer.ca
