Daddy Daughter Dance returns

The annual Daddy Daughter Dance is back and this year the proceeds from the fundraising event will help support the Canadian Cancer Society.

The Brackendale Babes, a team that takes part every year in the Relay for Life, are helping to present the event at Pepe and Gringo's on Wednesday (Feb. 8).

"Pepe and Gringo's have been doing the father-daughter dance for the last few years and another Relay for Life group had done it a couple of years ago," said Julie van Eesteren of the Babes. "We thought it was a great idea and decided to help organize and put it all together for this year."

Van Eesteren said a photographer will be on hand to capture memories from the night, tapas will be available to munch on and flowers will be sold for the dads to treat their daughters. She said there will also be a silent auction with many gifts that could save dad a trip to the store for Valentine's Day.

There is no age limit for the event and van Eesteren said that tickets often sell out quickly. Tickets are $25 for the fathers and $10 for the daughters and can be picked up from any member of the Brackendale Babes.
