Darts & Daffodils

Darts to the parents who let their children run wild in restaurants. For the record, it’s not cute. It disrupts people enjoying a night out, and it’s a hazard for servers. Being a parent is just that: Accept the responsibility or get a babysitter.

Being a parent is just that: Accept the responsibility or get a babysitter.

 – A not-so-old guy with kids

Dandelion darts and dead daffodils to whoever is responsible for maintaining the boulevard plantings on Highway 99. When the trees and shrubs were first planted after highway construction, it was an inspiring and beautiful sight to drive into Squamish. Under your lack of care, the majority of small shrubs have died from thirst, and the beds are now a weed-infested mess. It’s an embarrassment to the community and a waste of taxpayer dollars.

– A taxpayer

I am really sad and upset to hear about the poor bear that woke up and lost his life because he innocently went for a stroll in his neighbourhood. He had the right to look and was not causing any problems. It is our responsibility to secure all attractants but certainly not our right to needlessly end a life.

Darts to the person who shot the bear. I hope the RCMP are successful in their search for you and hope you get the book thrown at you.

– Sad

Darts to the guy who stepped out onto a crosswalk downtown on his cellphone and didn’t even look, then dawdled his way across.

– Annoyed

A shoe box full of daffodils to Warren and the staff at the Mark’s store in the Garibaldi Highlands. Their understanding, patience and professionalism while serving a man with disabilities purchasing a pair of shoes was gratefully appreciated.

 – Grateful
