Darts & daffodils

Heartfelt daffodil to the cadet reciting Flanders Fields on Remembrance Day. Amazing job! I appreciated sharing that honest moment.

Dart to the owner who allowed their dog to frolic in a very active spawning stream of the Mamquam spawning channels below the golf course on Nov. 8. A) This is a posted sensitive habitat area warning all not to disturb spawning salmon. These fish are under enough stress and do not need the added burden of avoiding a privileged pet. B) This is a posted dogs on leash area. Wildlife are present and do not need to be hassled. A scared pet will lead an angry bear back to you. C) This is Squamish where we try our best to co-exist with wildlife. We are overcrowding their diminishing territory.

Aisle upon aisle of darts to the shoppers who make a mess in our stores. Until you’ve purchased an item, try to remember it is owned by the store and not there for you to destroy, nor there for you to move to a new location. If you don’t understand what I mean, I’d be happy to drop by your house and make a similar mess for you to clean up. How hard is it to put something back where you got it from? I don’t blame the store staff. I see they are working hard to tidy up after you.

- Tired of shopping in a mess

Car loads of daffodils to the Squamish Quilter’s Guild for donating a handmade lap quilt to the Squamish Volunteer Driver’s for the Cancer Program Raffle. Also, many thanks to Canadian Tire, London Drugs, Craig’s Independent and Inbiz. The winner of the quilt is Vicki Haber. Phone 604-390-3331 if a ride is required to cancer treatment or a doctor’s appointment related to a cancer diagnosis.
