After reviewing 74 submissions, a winner has been announced for Eagle Watch's photo contest. The winning photo, by Tristan Rayner, was chosen unanimously.
"Our judges were drawn to the overall composition of the photo, with the dramatic snowy mountains in the background, the shadowed tree line in front and the eagle subtly flying amongst. We felt it truly captured the vastness of our landscapes here in Squamish and the simple, yet powerful, presence of the eagles soaring through," said Eagle Watch manager Pam Duynstee, who was a judge along with professional photographers Austin Heffelfinger (www.austinheffphotography.com) and Rodrigo Rivas (www.rodrigorivas.com).
Besides winning the contest, Rayner was a volunteer for the Eagle Watch program this year. The prize is a one-night stay in one of Sunwolf's cozy riverside cabins.
