The Easter Bunny returns to Squamish this weekend with events on tap for the entire family.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt returns to Brennan Park on Sunday (April 5).
Presented by the Squamish Fire Fighters Association, the free event draws kids of all ages to the field behind Brennan Park to grab as many eggs as possible.
It all gets underway, rain or shine, starting at 11 a.m. Kids are divided up into different age groups so the younger children don’t miss out.
After dropping off all the eggs outside Brennan Park, the Easter Bunny then heads into Brennan Park Arena for a skate. Kids of all ages can hit the ice with the rabbit starting at noon.
Those wanting to experience Easter from 885 metres above sea level can check out the first Easter celebration atop the Sea to Sky Gondola on Sunday.
An Easter Egg hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Summit Plaza and the Spirit Trail and children are divided by age. A craft station will also be on site where cards, colouring and wooden egg decorating can keep children occupied.
The Gondola also hosts a West Coast inspired Easter brunch from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reservations are required and all interested can contact [email protected] for more details.
Anyone wanting to avoid cavities can head to the Britannia Mine Museum for its annual Easter Dino Egg Hunt. The event features the return of Britanniasaurus Rex, who will be wandering around the site and hiding Easter eggs containing gemstones.
Once the kids uncover the stones, they can identify them at the mineral table. Hunts begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. It’s recommended to arrive early to avoid line-ups. For more information, visit www.britanniaminemuseum.ca.
