The Kees and Claire Memorial Hut Society is kicking its annual fundraiser up a notch this year. Having teamed up with local mountain clubs to form the Spearhead Huts Committee in recent years, the backcountry hut fundraising project has jumped to the next level, and so has the annual event to match it.
The sixth annual Winter Kick Off Party and Fundraiser, planned on Saturday (Nov. 3) at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagle Eye Theatre in Squamish, will feature the Squamish premiere of Jeremy Jones' film "Further," a slide show featuring the work of renowned action sports and wilderness photographer Jordan Manley, and a silent auction packed with valuable items from Sea to Sky Corridor businesses.
The event is open to those aged 19 and up. Tickets are $20, available at Escape Route in Squamish (cash only), or online on the event page, www.spearheadhuts.org
