Family-friendly Halloween-themed activity starts today in downtown Squamish

The Spooky Story Walk will be available all weekend at Stan Clarke Park.

A local resident will soon set up a family-friendly activity for residents to enjoy over the Halloween weekend.

According to a news release, Zoe Linford, a Squamish parent and early childhood educator, will set up a Spooky Story Walk at Stan Clarke Park today (Friday, Oct. 29). The activity will be set up until the end of the school day on Monday, Nov. 1.

The activity will be based on Oliver Jeffers’ new book titled, There’s a Ghost in this House. Pages of the book will be posted on signboards and children, families and residents alike can partake in a self-guided walk to read.

Additionally, there will several Halloween-themed decorations that coincide with the book.

Men’s Shed members and Coast Mountain Academy students helped build and paint the signboards for the activity.

To fund the activity, Linford received a United Way British Columbia “Local Love” grant.
