DJ Shub made a name for himself during his time with A Tribe Called Red, which blended Indigenous music with electronic beats.

There will not be any dancing bears, but it will feature a high-profile DJ.

DJ Shub, formerly part of A Tribe Called Red, will be headlining this year’s Dancing Bear Arts and Music Festival at Quest University.

In recent years, A Tribe Called Red has gained much acclaim throughout Canada by blending Indigenous music with electronic beats.

Other notable acts at Dancing Bear include SO LOKI, Jenna Mae and Squamish darlings Lovecoast. Howe Sound Secondary’s jazz band will also be on the bill.

Dancing Bear is an annual festival run at the end of Quest’s school year to celebrate the arrival of spring.

The event will be comprised of a free daytime family-friendly arts and crafts market and will lead into a ticketed music festival in the evening.

The festival will take place on April 21 at Quest.
