After more than six months of preparation, tonight volunteers take to the track for 12 hours at Brennan Park during the annual Squamish Relay for Life Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser starting at 7 p.m. Support your favourite team, give a donation in memory of a loved one lost to cancer and fight back against cancer. Locals can also take part in the fundraising Jail and Bail by calling the sheriffs on a friend or co-worker, who will be placed in a cage at Brennan Park until enough funds can be raised to bail them out. The Squamish Elks Spring Fair continues this weekend at the parking lot on Logger's Lane across form the Adventure Centre. The Fair opens at 3 p.m. today but on Saturday and Sunday (June 5 and 6) the gates open at noon. Along with families and individuals having fun, money raised during this event support many local charities and camps for children with special needs to attend.
Registration for Summer Keep Well Classes are now being accepted at the Seniors' Centre. On Thursday (June 10) at 10:45 a.m. a Wii game demo will be held. A Lawn Bowling workshop is planned for Wednesday (June 16) at 1 p.m. Come and learn all about lawn bowling, then try it out on the new Lawn Bowling Greens located close to the Centre. Thanks are extended to Herbert Vesly for instructing the Computer Lab classes. The computer lab will be open on Monday afternoons and some Thursdays. If you need a computer coach, let the staff know and they will try to book one for you.

Talent galore will be on stage when the year-end dance recital presented by the Still Dancing dance school takes place at the Brennan Park Recreation Centre on Saturday, June 12 with performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The instructors are Debbie Vidas and Jane Runnals and their students range from pre-schoolers to those in their 60s.
