Obituary: Duane 'Dwangster' Gould

The world as we know it lost a true legend, Duane Martin Gould passed away at 4:20 on April Fool’s Day. No joke. He was the best. Ask anyone. The man that was always there for his family and friends, through sickness and in health, literally.

The world as we know it lost a true legend, Duane Martin Gould passed away at 4:20 on April Fool's Day. No joke. He was the best. Ask anyone. The man that was always there for his family and friends, through sickness and in health, literally. His 'medicinal' therapies were very well sought after, but sadly, lost his own violent battle with cancer.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and friend to all. Duane was survived by his wife, Louise, and their many children and grandchildren, including Jennifer Hohmann (Lorissa, Emily, Jaelle, Kierianne, Bryce, Joseph & Severin,) Jay Butler (Arran, Lennox & Blake,) Nate Gould (Nicki,) Kassy Little (Orrin, Alice & Jack,) Daniel Prevost (Trina, Mylie & Natalie,) Joel Prevost (Andie, Bailee & Rowan,) Maury Prevost and Nolan Prevost. His brother Michael Gould (Sheryl) and sister Leslie Read (Milt) will miss him dearly, along with the many people that commonly referred to him as 'Pops,' 'BC Dad,' 'Dobe,' 'Dewey,' and 'Batman'.

Growing up in Richmond and perhaps being raised on the sidelines of both the old Lansdowne and the rugged Hastings horse race tracks working with his Dad is where he developed his gangster-like mentalities which would further leave him with the nickname "Dwangster the Gangster." He further moved into the cultivation business, a real 'green thumb,' along with handling the trusty choker alongside the vampire log dogs crew up the Upper Squamish Valley where he eventually settled to raise his family.

"Grizz Gould" would do anything to keep his family safe, nicknamed after the incident in the Upper Squamish Valley between a certain grizzly bear and protective "Gould" father.

Duane was a die-hard snowboarder, faster than most of his extended kids less than half his age that he'd ride with. He loved martial arts, corvettes, jamming his iPod to recapture his youth or check out the newest hot jam Nate forced him to listen to, or being creative with artistic wood carving projects, always happier with a dog in the family and relaxing and enjoying his beautiful property in the 108 Mile Ranch with the love of his life, Louise. He loved nothing more than spanking his kids, and there were many of them, at that good ol' game of MONOPOLY — us kids would give anything for one last game!

The host of the epic spectacular valley party where he hailed "Come one, come all to the Testicle Ball" will be celebrated June 18th at Norman Rudy's Restaurant in the Executive Suites Hotel - Kids are welcome! For the age-appropriate crowd, bring your favourite "PR" and we'll send Duane off right, the "Dwangster" way with one final 'sesh'??
