The annual Harvest Tea and Bazaar at Hilltop House (HTH) is tomorrow (Oct. 15) from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and it is an event that is always well attended. The HTH Support Society and many willing volunteers make this yearly event a most successful one. Please drop off your donations of baking before 1:30 p.m. Gather with friends and neighbours to partake in a delicious piece of homemade pie and tea or coffee for only $4. Be sure to purchase something from the bake table and get your name on the raffle tickets.
A special treasure chest will be won by the purchaser of the right key to the lock at the Harvest Moon Dance at St. John's Anglican Church tomorrow evening (Oct. 15). Dance the evening away to the great music of George McKenzie's Dr. D and the Soul Demons band. Tickets are $30 each and are available at the Adventure Centre gift shop, Billie's Bouquet and at the church office.
The monthly bird count by the Squamish Environmental Society will take place on Sunday (Oct. 16) at 8 a.m. (note new time) and everyone is asked to meet at the Howe Sound Inn and Brew Pub. The Squamish Public Library and Quest University Canada present Dr. Neal Melvin on Thursday (Oct. 20) at 6:30 p.m. at the library. His topic will be How Memory Works: Insights From Psychology and Neuroscience. Topics related to memory, such as aging and Alzheimer's disease, and the role that sleep plays in memory will also be discussed.

This weekend (Oct. 15 and 16) the Women's Auxiliary to the Squamish General Hospital will be selling raffle tickets at Wal Mart for their annual bazaar in November. The prizes are: $350, $250 and $125 in cash.

Howe Sound Performing Arts Association (HSPAA) is presenting the Spirit of Squamish when local students serve up tricks and treats of Halloween-inspired music and dance. It is a fundraiser for the Access Music Foundation Fund, a scholarship program offered by the HSPAA to Squamish students from kindergarten to Grade 12 to pursue studies in the Performing Arts. The location is the Eagle Eye Theatre on Friday (Oct. 28) at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation.
