Has your child outgrown their bike? Or are you handy with bike repairs?

Local organizations are finding a way for old rides to find a new life for those in need.

On June 4, the Rotary Club of Squamish and Squamish Helping Hands are sponsoring a Kids Bike Recycling Drive at Under One Roof on Third Avenue.

“We are asking people to bring in any old kid’s bike that are no longer used. They will be checked out, fixed up, and then offered to anyone who may need a ‘new’ kid’s bike,” said Brian Finley of the Rotary Club.

One business has already stepped up to the cause.

Those interested in donating a bike can drop them off tomorrow, on June 4, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Under One Roof.

Handy folks willing to lend a hand can help clean and repair the cycles between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Families or guardians in need of a kid’s bike can pick them up between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
