It’s the end of an era at The Living Room, as the laughs officially stop on Jan. 22.
Squamish comedian Kelly Dyer and his popular comedy shows are coming to an end, but he said he wants to have a good time for the final local show for the foreseeable future.
“We're throwing down one more show to kind of thank everyone and have one last good time,” he said.
Dyer said The Living Room is now under new ownership and he decided it was time to move on to other projects. He brought the series of shows to Squamish in March 2013 and for almost two years, he attracted some of the top local names in Western Canada.
The final show is headlined by Vancouver comic Chris James, who recently returned to Canada after a stint in Los Angeles performing with Saturday Night Live alum Rob Schneider.
Also appearing on the show are experienced Vancouver comics Kyle Jones and Steve McGowan. Dyer is the host and doors open at 6:30 p.m., with comics hitting the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door.
Dyer said that comedy fans shouldn’t fret too much as he has a show planned for the Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival in April, and he hopes to work on potentially bringing comedy to the Sea to Sky Gondola sometime this year.
