Obituary: Marian Zarychta

1934 to 2023

Marian was born in Poland in 1934 and passed away peacefully on Feb.  2, 2023, at Lynn Valley Care Centre in North Vancouver.

Marian arrived in Canada in 1971 and worked at BC Rail in the electrical department until he retired in 1999. 

He filled his time with extensive gardening and won awards for his efforts. 

As well, Marian was an excellent bridge player and won awards as well. Marian enjoyed travelling and explored Canada and the United States, returned to his native Poland and sailed to Hawaii. 

Marian enjoyed hiking, bicycling and skiing. He was a very generous man with his family and friends and was loved by those in his wide social circle. He will be missed by many. 

Marian leaves his daughter, Yvonne and his granddaughter Vanessa.  He was predeceased by his wife, Irene, and his son, Paul. 

His sister, Kathy Ciechanowski (Squamish), remained a constant companion.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Squamish Funeral Chapel.
