It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Albrecht.

Walter was born in Nadrybie, Poland.

He moved with his family to Saskatchewan in 1938 and settled in Mission B.C. in 1940.

In 1959, Walter married Emma Brauer and adopted her two children, Elsie and Doreen.

In 1963, they moved to Squamish. Their son Michael was born in July 1964.

Sadly, Walter lost his precious Emma in 1973. He never remarried.

Walter worked in the logging industry from age 16 to 55.  Walter kept himself busy doing odd jobs.

He loved reading his paper, gardening, going to swap meets and tinkering in his workshop.

Walter lived a full and happy life.

After a cancer diagnosis, he passed away peacefully three days later with Elsie and Doreen at his side.

In addition to his children Elsie (Wayne), Doreen and Mike (Leah), Walter leaves behind his sisters Margaret, Doreen and Liz, as well as six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
