Well, isn’t this just ducky.
Rotary Club of Squamish has launched the “Duck in a Truck,” fundraiser in support of the Sea to Sky Community Hospice.
On Sunday, Aug. 12 in Pavillion Park at 2 p.m. — during the Squamish Street Market — 2,000 rubber ducks will be placed in a Cardinal Concrete Truck and released through its chute into a pool. Winning ducks will be captured by a net. The grand prize is $10,000.
Also at the market is the free The Tragically Hip tribute party with "Bobycageon" in the Norman Rudy's Beer Garden starting at 4 p.m.
Members of Squamish Fire Rescue will also be passing around the boot to help raise additional funds for Rotary's fundraiser in support of Sea to Sky Hospice.
Get your ticket from a Rotarian or at at the Squamish Street Market Aug. 12.
The goal of the Squamish Hospice Society is to build a dedicated hospice space adjacent to Squamish General Hospital, “that reflects the beauty of Sea to Sky Corridor where community members may receive quality palliative respite care, symptom management or most importantly, live their final days in peace and comfort, fully supported by trained medical and volunteer teams."
