Prehistoric fun returns to Squamish

Dinosaur Train invading Railway Park this month

The large lizards are returning to Squamish.

The stars of the animated series Dinosaur Train are again taking over the West Coast Heritage Railway Park (WCHRP) over spring break and the whole community is invited to take in the prehistoric fun.

It all goes down from March 20 to 23 and March 27 to 29, with activities for kids of all ages. Trains depart at 1 p.m. on all weekday and weekend dates, with additional 10 a.m. trains departing on weekends.

Kids go on a train ride to an undisclosed location where they can go digging for fossils and searching for dinosaur bones. Inside the CN Roundhouse, there will be more fossil dig sites, dinosaur tracking, temporary tattoos and other activities.

Children will also get a chance to meet Buddy, the popular T-Rex-inspired character from the show.

Tickets are $27 and are on sale now at the park or online at www.wcra.org. It's recommended that train riders arrive at the park 30 minutes before the train departs.
